Political advice from 2,000 years ago

Thinking about our current crop of U.S. politicians seeking the blue pinstriped suit. How would they rank?

"The greatest leader is one of whose existence the people are barely aware.
Next comes one whom they love and praise.
Next comes one whom they fear.
Least is one whom they despise and defy.

"When you lack faith in the people,
The people will lack faith in you.

"The Sage is self-effacing and sparse with words.
When his goals are accomplished and tasks completed,
All the people will say, 'We have achieved it ourselves!'"

— Lao Tzu, Tao Teh Ching

  • I won't denigrate assembly lines — they build for the masses. I don't. This is something very different.

If your music is art, if your vision is unique, I will shape the wood, bend the metal, solder the connections to give you the tool to let your beast run wild.

FEATURED

  • Halie & Orchid

Halie (USA) is a young but highly promising bassist who lives at the intersection of Green Day and traditional jazz. Orchid is designed to comfortably fit a petite player.

  • Goran & Starfish

Goran (Sweden) plays this rare claro walnut guitar. He frequently shares thoughts and feelings. Rock on, my friend.
