Tesla Motors. A Silicon Valley automotive start-up that makes General Motors or Ford look like your great-grandmother's car maker.
"Remember the days of gasoline?"
A bit pricey at $92,000. But, if you want to introduce an electric car company to mass public consciousness, do you initially build a 4-door sedan for people with 'unshaved armpits who wear Birkenstocks?' [Don't know any of them. Heh.] Or do you build a sports car and offer it in L.A.?
My dad, a muscle-car builder and racer from the 1950's said: "That is a really hot looking car. Afraid it is too expensive and not loud enough for me. I think you and Trish would look just fine in the electric roadster."
See...that's progress. Take someone who's initially resistant to new (clean) automotive technology and get him excited because it offers something BETTER. Imagine this concept on nuclear power.
After I make my first million, I will buy Dad a Tesla Roadster, and have a 24bit-96kHz 5.1 surround sound recording of (insert his favorite gasoline engine of choice here) linked to the accelerator pedal and subwoofer.
Personally, I'll take the wind noise with Vivaldi.
PS: Arnold Schwarzenegger understands!
